Hanna Afolabi founded BWRE to build a space where Black women in the property industry can connect, be seen, and support one another. After struggling to find women like herself in her own professional circles, she created BWRE to champion racial and gender equality and foster meaningful community.

Hanna is the Managing Director and Founder of Mood and Space (MAS), a development consultancy that helps clients shape their development vision, strategy, and delivery. She specialises in large-scale urban regeneration and has extensive experience managing complex development processes that bring new homes, workplaces, and neighbourhoods to life.

Her project portfolio includes leading as Development Director for East Wick and Sweetwater, a landmark £860 million mixed-use regeneration scheme on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, delivering 1,859 homes and 20,000 sq ft of non-residential space.

Hanna has also served as Vice Chair of the University of Greenwich’s Construction, Property and Surveying Practices Industry Advisory Board and sits on the Estates Gazette Diversity & Inclusion Content Advisory Panel. Her work across industry, education, and advocacy reflects her dedication to creating a more inclusive and representative property sector.
